Stree Swabhimaan Environment Friendly Initiative By CSC: Sanitary Napkin Manufacturing Units By CSC Vles.

• A number of Women Village Level Entrepreneurs (Vles) are venturing to make environment-friendly disposable sanitary pads from banana tree fibre, which decompose in less than a year.
• CSC Vles use vegetable-based dyes, minimal packaging (which can be recycled), and off-set carbon costs of production by supporting sustainability projects.
• Currently 5,900 women, mostly from marginalized and poor communities, are employed through 1180 Sanitary Napkin Manufacturing Units that are operational across the country.
