Overcoming all challenges woman VLE Chimpu Rabha, who hails from a Scheduled Tribe family of Bodahapur village, in Assam’s Goalpara district, has emerged as a role model for everyone by uniting people from different walks of life through technology.
After completing Masters in Sociality, Chimpu decided to work for the villagers of her locality, who always face huge problems in fulfilling their basic needs due to communication problem. In view of this, she started her centre in the year 2012 and offered various G2C services to the communities.
There are about 24 villages in Bodahapur Gram Panchayat, where around 90% people do not have any knowledge about computers and digital literacy. There are two types of Tribal communities belong to the Gram Panchayat with two different spoken language. Despite of problem of language, connectivity and electricity this lady did give up, and she successfully provided all the online services like PMGDISHA (Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan), Tele Law, Tele Medicine, e-District services like PRC, PDBR, Income certificate, Caste Certificate etc, Pan Card, Passport services Ticket Booking, Insurance services etc.
Her commitment towards society has transformed the lives of thousands of people, empowered them to become self-reliant. Also, for the better implementation of the services she took permission from the Gram Panchayat and now she is running her centre in GP Office premises of Bodahapur GP, Goalpara District.
