Confronting the numerous challenges in the mountainous terrain of Champawat district of Uttrakhand, VLE Madhu Singh has accomplished the formidable task of imparting digital literacy to villagers.
In her village Simiyan, village-level entrepreneur Madhu has trained 300 students at her CSC center under the PMGDISHA scheme of the Central government, out of which 125 students have cleared their exam successfully, with the best exam completion ratio in the district.
She had built a wooded hall for students to study and give examinations at her CSC center, but due to poor internet connectivity in her village, she made students give exam hilltop where connectivity was appropriate.
Recognizing her talent, Honorable Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad appreciated her efforts.
Notably, due to her firm determination, she has been given works of another Panchayat under the scheme.
